Recordings

Recording #1 - Field recorder SD card

"Coming up to Taylor walker & co's, I began to record on the field recorder and the screen came up saying the card was full, I was sure I have formatted it beforehand before I left for London but evidently there had been an issue with the card. I have resulted in using the spare card from the camera so to make sure I have enough footage for the camera I will be taking pitstops along the way to back everything up to my laptop"

Recording #6, 7- Security Guard encounters

"I have arrived at the shard, and upon walking out the station have been approached by a security guard asking what I was doing. I briefly explained that I was doing a college project and he asked for my School ID. I didn't have that in hand but luckily the security guard said that the normal IDs will be fine. I will be sure to bring the school ID incase if this were to happen again "

"As I needed the toilet, planned to go to the one in the station but we got stopped by a different security guard asking what we are doing taking the camera into the station and how we needed to talk to the station reception to get permission to film in the station. I explained I merely needed the toilet but as I didn't have time to fully switched off the gimbal he was still a little suspicious and asked why my camera was still on. I cleared everything up and ended up disassembling the gimbal and putting it in my friends bag so to release any further complications with any possible encounters "

Recording #2, 3 - Camera Storing

"We have taken a pitstop to have lunch and after shooting a 2min long walking shot, the camera seemed to be stuck on a loop of trying to store the footage into the camera. I used this time to search what the issue might be and it seemed like if you were to adjust the image internally in the camera which I have this adds extra time for the camera to process the video. I am considering in cancelling the storage by hard rebooting it, taking the battery out "

"It had been another 2mins and the camera was still trying to store the footage so I decided to reboot the camera expecting the have to retake the shot but to my surprise, the footage actually have been saved even though I hard reset it so, fortunately, I don't have to retake the shot. "

Recording #8 - Blur footage

"After shooting and travelling from the shard, I took one last stop to have a look at all the footage I have collected and it seems that some of the footage was a bit on the blurry side. I figured that it may be because of the resolution I was shooting at as the footage that I shot in 4k looked significantly sharper. I also wanted to save space on the card in case I run out during a shoot but if I were to take pitstops in between the shoots like I have done today, I will have enough storage overall if I were to transfer everything to my laptop. So I will shoot in 4k from now on."

Recording #4, 5 - Battery pack & Field recorder recording

" The battery, unfortunately, did get drained from the camera trying to store the footage so I will be plugging it into my battery pack."

"The battery pack was taking a little while to charge the camera but because we had taken enough footage already in Camden Town, we have time to charge the camera until the next location. During this time though, I will be focusing on recording any foley the ambience sounds incase I will need any extra for the editing or even for personal use."

Recording #9 - Dead Battery

"We have just finished shooting and one thing that happened using the Green Park shoot is that the battery died closer to the end of the. It wasn't that big of an issue as we've already shot everything that we needed for Green Park but just to make sure I will be sure to charge the camera as much as I can in between the shoots to get as much time recording as possible"
